Kentucky-Tennessee District of The Wesleyan Church

Statement of Mission

The mission of the Kentucky-Tennessee District is to exalt Christ by equipping and empowering our churches to fulfill the Great Commission in the spirit of the Great Command

Vision Statement

The Vision of the Kentucky-Tennessee District is:

  • To empower our churches to become healthy ministries that positively impact their communities and beyond for Christ;
  • To enlarge our borders by planting and establishing new churches capable in turn of reproducing themselves;
  • To equip our pastors and leaders for personal development and effective ministry;
  • To embody holiness through transformed lives and spiritually dynamic churches.

Our Ministries

The district features two family camps, two youth camps, two children's camps, a spring women's retreat in Kentucky, a fall women's retreat in Tennessee, an annual men's retreat, a senior adults retreat and a young adult retreat, as well as an annual ministers prayer retreat. Our district campgrounds are Maysville Wesleyan Campground (Maysville, KY) and Cumberland Grove Campgound (Jamestown, TN).

The district holds five classes each year to help our ministerial students and licensed ministers prepare for ordination. These are held in the Marlin Hotle Retreat Center located in Jamestown, Tennessee. Over half of the district pastors meet with the district superintendent on a monthly basis in regional Vision Focus Clusters to study leadership principles, Church health, and for prayer and accountability.

The district is focused primarily on Church planting , with an emphasis on reaching into the major metropolitan areas, and on developing church health. Regional Leadership Development events are being planned each year as well as an aggressive coaching and health evaluation network.
